Our lab focuses on microbial biofilms, with the aim of understanding the signals and processes that promote biofilm formation, and finding new methods for treating biofilm-related medical, industrial and environmental problems. We are also interested in other aspects of microbial physiology, including bacterial virulence and metabolic engineering
Ehud Banin is a Professor at The Mina & Everard Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University, and a member of the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials. He is currently the head of the Division of Developmental Biology and Physiology in the Faculty. Ehud received his B.Sc. degree in Biotechnology and Food Engineering from the Technion (summa cum laude), and his Ph.D. degree from Tel-Aviv University. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA and at the University of Iowa, Iowa-City, IA, USA. Banin joined Bar Ilan University in 2006.
